Our next Open Day will take place on 5th September, 11am to 5pm, this will be the final Open Day for 2015, the Post will be open and equipped and weather permitting there will be a small display above ground too. Remember, if you wish to go underground you do so entirely at your own risk, this is as it was for Observers on duty, it has not been “sterilized” in the interests of health and safety. If time and helpers allow we will be able to provide hot drinks. We’ll be posting dates of 2016 Open Days here or on our Facebook page as soon as dates are finalised. Don’t forget we’re prepared to open especially for group visits if our work shifts allow.
Wow, first thing we must say is thank you to all who came along to see what we’re doing, every visitor we get is a welcome guest and we hope you feel welcome. Unfortunately we didn’t get chance to take any photo’s of the day (very remiss of us I know) so if anyone would care to send us any to share on here we’d be extremely grateful. You can get in touch via the form on the “About” page or alternatively via our Facebook page “Carlisle 51 Post – Threlkeld”
Secondly we really must pay thanks to C/Obs Malcolm Cannings for helping with underground “tourguide” duties in the Post, Obs(W) Yvonne Thomas for getting everyone signed in and organised upstairs and C/Obs Hugh Doran for staying back to help strip the Post and load the car at the end of the day.
